Biography

Elizabeth (or Elisabeth) Phillips was the daughter of William Phillips and his wife Susanna Stanley Phillips, born by 1635, probably in Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, USA [1] She was baptized 15 Nov 1636.[2]

Elizabeth Phillips Everill Alden was married twice:[2]

Her first husband was Abiel Everill, who died about 1660. The couple had two children: James and Abiel.

Her second husband was John Alden, Jr. She had 14 children with her second husband most of whom did not survive to adulthood.

In 1690, Elizabeth and John Alden sold land that had been deeded to Elizabeth from her father, William Phillips, to Simeon Stoddard of Boston.[3]

On the 7th day of Feb 1695/9, Mrs Alden was buried, in boston, Massachusetts.[1][4]

Research Note

Note received on merge - "A birth date (Phillips-2 born 1619) is more than 40 years before or after a sibling's birth date (Phillips-1072 born 28 Jan 1660). It's unusual for a mother's birth date (Phillips-2 born 1619) to be more than 55 years before the birth date of one of her children (Alden-1490 born 5 Mar 1675)." Possible match to Phillips-2, Elisabeth Phillips Alden, wife of Alden-6

Phillips-8230 and Phillips-2 appear to represent the same person because: no uncloaked conflicting sources attached. Death date difference of exactly 1 year could be attributed to Jan/Feb OS ambiguity, in absence of accessible source.

She is William's daughter according to the newly cited sources; mother would be his 1st spouse Mary (unknown) (-1646), called Bishop (per source cited from the church of marriage).

New profile Bishop-14221 should be linked in as mother in place of step-mother Aspinwall-190 . William's 3rd spouse is linked to the duplicate (unsourced) profile for which merge is proposed.

father William Phillips Jr of Phillips-2 already connected. Mary (Bishop) Phillips (abt.1604-1646) has been connected.

Aha it's nice to see that I was right about something being off. I've just looked at TAG 86:296-301 (2012) and the article that confirms what you said. Do you have access? Would you like to update these profiles using the article? Someone else want to do so?

I would be happy if someone who has it would update. I had posted the NEM entries about the 3 marriages of William Phillips Jr on that profile. Those marriages are mentioned already in the bio, although only one has a profile linked, and the statement about which children are from which marriage is incomplete. I found the article, to me the searching is rather strange.

I just added sources on Abiel Everill. My grandfather's notes from 50 years ago are missing Elizabeth in passing, although he had our entire line forward from her son. Wouldn't she be in silver book?

A merge is already proposed of the duplicate profiles of Elizabeth's father. One has his 2nd marriage, the other his 3rd.

Updated link and changed birth to before 1640 used by Alden, Mayflower and Anderson.

There is something not quite right though. The first husband, C Stanley, of her mother, Susannah, didn't die until 1646, according to his profile.
