Thomas Perrott (1746 – 1815) – Cordwainer of Roche Castle House. He was made a burgess of the Corporation on 5th October 1767 (at 21 years of age, the earliest possible date he could be made a burgess). He was appointed as an overseer of the poor in 1781. He was granted a Share on the Lees on 6th October 1788. Portreeve in 1792. He was made Foreman of the Jury on 28th April 1794. On 10th August 1795 Thomas Perrot was granted a lease on “a piece of Common near the Newmill, leaving sufficient Cart Road to Parsonleys” (map available). On 31st August 1801 it was minuted that Counsel’s Opinion was being sought on “the Land Thomas Perrott has enclosed on a piece of Common called Roaches”. On 2nd March 1812, it was ordered that a notice be given Thomas Perrott to quit and deliver up Little Corran, and also a Piece of Ground above the Uppermill, to the Corporation (this must relate to the “piece of common” leased to him in August 1795). He died on 24th October 1815. [1]
