Thanks for having a Big Heart and taking responsibility for Orphaned Profiles. You will want to read this After Adopting Orphans as it explains the special attention adopted profiles will sometimes need from their profile managers. You may also want to go through the new member help on How to manage your Watchlist.

Hi! The database error report for the Appalachian Roots sticker shows that you're using "state=KY-VA" ... instead of "state=VA-KY" ... it should be {Appalachian Roots|state=VA-KY} - use double braces front and back instead of single braces (if I use the double braces in the comment, it shows the sticker instead of the coding).

Let me know if you have any questions.

Cheers, Liz

Hi Susan!

The US Southern Colonies Project - of which the Colony of Virginia Team is a part - checks in with its members every 6 moths. You had been listed as a member of that team but were not otherwise shown to be a member of the project. If you are still interested in being an active member of the Virginia Team, please send me a private message and I'll get you set up as a member of the US Southern Colonies Project, which includes adding you to the project's Discussion Google Group (so, if you'd like me to use a different e-mail from your WikiTree e-mail for the Google group, let me know in that private message).

Hope to hear from you soon!

Cheers, Liz ~ co-leader, US Southern Colonies Project

As part of an annual check-in of the WikiTree US Presidents Project we are asking members if they are planning to continue their contributions to the project. We are establishing a page where everyone can identify the President or Vice President that they wish to manage. Just respond to this message to let me know 1) Are you planning to continue with the Project and 2) do you have a specific President or Vice President that you are interested in.

Hey Susan,

Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few features you may find useful.

Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards .

If you need to describe an event, heirloom or a location relevant to your research, try Free Space Profiles .

If you run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving these unfortunate situations.

A project of note is the Global Family Reunion check it out at Global Family Reunion.

Questions? Ask via my profile page. Mags

Hi Susan,

Just a quick PS

Don't forget to Head over to the G2G forum. and take a minute to introduce yourself in the Tree House or ask a question in any of the other categories. There's also a brickwall tag in the G2G forum: for that "special" ancestor who is eluding you.

Best Wishes, and have fun adding your leaves and branches!

Thank you for volunteering!

You are now a member of the WikiTree Community! Please remember that we are trying to build one Collaborative Global Family Tree which means only one profile per person. It is important to ensure that no duplicates are created and profiles are properly sourced.

To help you get started, check out an introductory WikiTree video that a member created. For member benefits, see our Community Members page.

We also have a Mentor Team who will be glad to answer questions and help you with any specific problems.

Welcome and Enjoy!

Hi Susan,

We were all novices at some point. Where do your interests lie? What do you know already? There is a great Genealogy 101 references list here: http://www.cyndislist.com/beginners/ . WikiTree is a collaborative site for people of all experience levels.

Did you volunteer because you want to start adding your family and contribute to our shared tree? If so, please post another message to that effect and I will be happy to confirm and welcome you to our Wikitree family.

Best Wishes,

Fred

Hi!

I see you have uploaded your DNA for comparison. Did you know we have a project for DNA where a lot of great new things are happening? If you are interested and would like to check it out, go to the FIND link top right of your profile page, select PROJECTS from the drop down box, and then select the link for the DNA project. It has information listed that might be of interest to you, and feel free to contact any of the members if you would like additional details.

Thanks,

Fred
