Biography

I was born the fourth and youngest of four brothers in my Family. Father was a Doctor, and Mother was an artist, who later got a Master's Degree in Fine Art, giving me a wonderful education in art that I would be difficult to get otherwise. I did a four year tour in the United States Navy, and after I got out, I got an Associate's Degree in Commercial Art. I got interested in Genealogy when Mother got a computer fifteen years ago. ==

Hi Donald,

I wanted to touch base and see if you have any questions about the Germany Project. Have you read the main Project page? Most of the basic info on the Project will be linked to that page, here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Germany.

You have not yet joined our Google Group, where our project communicates. In the Google Group (and on G2G), you can ask specific questions relating to your German genealogy. To join the Google Group, please click this link: https://groups.google.com/g/wikitreegermanroots and request to join. PLEASE MAKE SURE TO ADD YOUR NAME OR WIKITREE ID TO THE REQUEST. Also, as a project member, you can join us and chat in real-time on Discord. More info on joining Discord is available on the main project page.

Have you checked out our teams? We encourage you to join at least one of them. Just let me know what interests you and there's probably a team for that!

Do you have any suggestions on how we might improve the project? Are there any new teams or resource pages you’d like to see created? I am always available to answer questions as is my co-leader, Dieter. Just let us know if you need anything!

Best regards, Traci ~Germany Project co-leader

Hi Donald,

Thanks for joining the Germany Project! I've awarded you a project member badge. When you have a chance, please do the following:

1. Read the main Germany Project Page (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Germany) to familiarize yourself with what we do and what is required of project members.

2. Add GERMANY to your list of followed G2G tags, so you can follow what the project is working on (see Help:Tags: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Tags#How_to_follow_tags).

3. Submit a join request to our Google Group (https://groups.google.com/g/wikitreegermanroots), where our project communicates. **Please make sure to add your name and WikiTree ID** to the request so we can get you set up.

4. Join a Team: On our main project page, we have listed several teams that cover regional, functional, historical and migrational interests. You might find that one of our 16 regional teams may be a good fit. Simply post a comment on the Team page to join whichever team suits you.

We look forward to working with you! Please feel free to contact me with any questions any time.

Thanks! Traci Thiessen ~ Germany Project co-leader

Hi there,

Thank you for noticing the merge, but since you are the profile manager of both, you must agree to and finish the merge.

Thanks Donald for taking the Pre-1700 Quiz

Because Pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, working within a project coordinating them is essential. Please ensure location data matches dates of profile, avoid abbreviations, add sources with citations & links for sources to support the data. From wiki ID go to Research to find sources

The US History Project would be of interest. Adding the tag US_History will connect you

Explore Pre-1700 Projects list to find one that fits your research focus, whether time period, location, or topic please read the goals & tasks of the project

Janet ~ Pre-1700 Greeter

PS Links not working, click them in your comment box

I am awaiting a DNA test that I took and put in the mail on Monday, the fifteenth of April, 2019

Thanks for joining us! I’m Cindy, a WikiTree Mentor. Hope you're enjoying our site.

I just wanted to check in and see how things are going. Do you have any questions I can answer?

We want to help! Click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page or send me a private message.

Cindy ~ WikiTree Mentor

PS To find reliable sources for your profiles, go to the Family Tree & Tools tab; select Genealogy Research and scroll down near the bottom of that list and select Research with RootsSearch. There are over 20 websites to access from there.

Hi Donald,

You've been a member of WikiTree for about a week so I am checking in to see how it is going. The New Member How-Tos are for you to work at your own pace. If you had time to look, were they helpful?

I'm here to help with questions about how WikiTree works. Just click my name, then ask in the comment section of my page. I'll get back to you by the end of the day.

Debi ~ WikiGreeter

PS If you get a "Page Not Found" error when clicking WikiTree email links, you can often find a working version in the public comments on your profile.

PPS Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? You can add more, up to 20 total.

Thanks for volunteering!

You are now an active member of the WikiTree community, and can start adding your family.

I recommend starting with our New Member How-To pages. They will save you time, energy and frustration as you create your family profiles. Building your family tree on WikiTree will help you connect with others who have the same ancestors.

Need help? Just ask!

Above all, have FUN!  :) I hope you enjoy WikiTree as much as I have!

Kind regards,

Vicky Majewski ~ WikiTree Greeter & Member since August 2015

P.S. If you ever get a "Page Not Found" error when you click a link in a WikiTree email, you can usually find a functioning link in the public comments section of your profile page.

The black and white photo of the elderly gentleman is Doctor Ashley Stephens Parker, my Great Grandfather, father of Lewis Guffin Parker, who was Father of Helen Margaret Parker who was my Mother. Ashley wasn't always a girl's name. His Mother, Sarah Stephens Parker, died in childbirth, so he had no whole siblings, although he had several half sisters after his Father, Doctor Peter James Parker MD remarried.
