On 10 August 1895 in Corleone, Giovanni Paternostro, age 24 (b. 1871), contadino, reports the birth on 9 August of a baby to his wife Lucia Fratello, contadina, in their home in via Pozzobuono in Corleone. The baby is a boy and is named Calogero. Witnesses Giuseppe Timpa, age 54 (b. 1841), and Girolamo D’Antoni, age 44 (b. 1851), contadini. The father cannot read or write.[1]
Calogero emigrates to Louisiana with his family of origin at an unknown date. In the US he is known as Carlos. He has a brother, Vincenzo, who is known as Charles. Charles and Carlos marry sisters.
Carlos marries Lena Vutera, the daughter of immigrants from Corleone. Lena's late father was killed in a shootout called the the Macaroni Wars in New Orleans in June 1902.
Carlos Paternsho (Paternostro), age 57 years, 4 months, and 2 days (b. 4 Aug 1895), dies on 6 December 1952 in Fordoche, Pointe Coupee, LA. He was born in 1895 in Italy, the son of John Paternsho and Lucy Fratello. His wife is Lena Victoro.[2]
Carlo Paternostro (1895-1952) is buried in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Cemetery in Maringouin, Iberville, Louisiana. He was born in Italy on 4 August 1895 and died on 6 December 1952 at age 57. He is linked to his wife, Lena Vutera Paternostro (1898-1982) and children John Paternostro (1917-1977) and Louis Paternostro (1922-2007) on Find A Grave.[3]
His widow, Lena, dies on 31 July 1982.[4]
