Biography
Jane (Orwin) Shephard was born in Nottinghamshire, England.
Jane was born in 1848. She was the daughter of George Orwin and Hannah Thompson. [1]
Jane appears in the 1851 census with her parents and sister at York Yard, East Markham, Nottinghamshire.[2]
In 1861 she was still living with he parents. The family had moved to Killamarsh, Derbyshire.[3]
On 22 April 1867 Jane married John Shephard at Killamarsh, Derbyshire.[4] They went on to have twelve children.
In 1871 they had one daughter and lived at Nether Green, Killamarsh, Derbyshire.[5]
They moved to Beighton, Derbyshire and its there that we find them with their children when the 1881 and 1891 census were taken.[6][7]
John passed away in 1900, age 67.[8]
In 1901 Jane was housekeeper for Joseph Wilson, living at 23 Hope Street, Rotherham, Yorkshire.[9]
Jane passed away in 1902, age 53.[10]
