Richard Oriel was born before 1823 and was christened on 16 April 1823 in Crunwear, Pembrokeshire, Wales. [1] He is the son of Thomas and Rebecca Oriel.
In the 1841 Census, Richard (aged 15) was at home in Crunwear (Crunwere Farm), Pembrokeshire, Wales [2] with his mother Rebecca and his siblings:
Ann Oriel aged 12 - may have been christened Nancy Oriel on 7 February 1829 [3]; and
Charles Oriel aged 9 - christened 12 October 1831 [4].
On 12 September 1846, Richard married Esther Lloyd in Laugharne, Carmarthenshire, Wales. [5]
In the 1851 Census, Richard (aged 26 and employed as a Carpenter) and his wife Esther (aged 28 and born in Langham, Carmarthenshire) were at home in Saint Issells, Pembrokeshire, Wales [6] with their sons:
Thomas Oriel aged 4; and
Charles Oriel aged 2.
Both boys were born in Langham, Carmarthenshire.
Richard passed away aged 33 in 1856 and his death was registered in Narberth in the September quarter.[7][8] He was buried[9]on 9 July 1856 in St. Elidyr Churchyard, Crunwere, Pembrokeshire, Wales
