Lucia Oliveri is born on 30 December 1853 in Corleone and is baptized the next day. She is the daughter of Rosario Oliveri and Orsola Lucchese. Her godparents are Francesco Piranio and Giovanna di Carlo.
Lucia marries Luciano Gagliano, the brother of her sister's husband. They complete the publication requirements for civil marriage in Corleone on 24 September 1880, and marry in church on 29 September. It is the first marriage for either of them. Their parents are all living at this time.
Lucia and Luciano have at least six children together, known from Church records: Luigia (1881), Tomasso (1883), two daughters named Orsola (1885 and 1888), and two daughters named Rosaria (1889 and 1892).
Note: For a table of Latin baptismal names and their Italian equivalents, and a discussion of naming conventions among the Corleonesi, see the Cascio Family Space.

The first daughter named Orsola is known from the record of her death, at one year and eleven months of age (b. September 1885), on 26 August 1887. She is named after her maternal grandmother, as is traditional for the second born daughter.
The second daughter named Orsola is born and baptized Ursulam on 26 January 1888. Her godparents are Ignazio Milone and Agnes, his unmarried sister.
The first daughter named Rosaria is born 31 July 1890 and baptized three days later. Her godparents are Domenico Pecoraro and Caterina Salerno, a married couple.[1] She dies at one year and two months of age on 4 September 1891.
The second daughter named Rosaria is born 25 June 1892 and baptized on 13 July. Her godmother is Angela Piazza, wife of Luciano Gagliano.[2] she dies at a year and a month of age on 26 July 1893.
