Patriot Revolusi - Patriot Revolution

Migrated to Surakarta, Dr Oen witnessed the whole series of transitional power processes in Indonesia, from the Dutch colonial era, the Japanese occupation, the proclamation of independence, to the struggle of the revolution. He even contributed throughout the entire historical period. [2]

Penekanan mungkin perlu diberikan di masa revolusi Indonesia, yaitu era ketika orang Tionghoa kerap ditampilkan berseberangan dalam konteks besar penulisan sejarah revolusi Indonesia. [1]

Emphasis may need to be given in the time of the Indonesian revolution, an era when Chinese people are often opposed in the great context of the writing of history of the Indonesian revolution. [2]

When for example anti-Chinese riots are burning in Surakarta, the name of Dr. Oen is hailed as a hero, especially by the most ordinary people. Together with Republicans from various elements, he worked side-by-side to fight for Indonesian independence. [2]

Dr. Oen secretly supplies penicillin to General Sudirman and treats the Student Army in need of care. He was able to color the revolutionary struggle through its contribution in the medical sector. [2]

That's where Dr. Oen's role becomes important as an agent of historical change, especially in the wake of recent sara (?) issues. [2]

Dokter Mangkunegaran -Doctor Mangkunegaran

Dr Oen and Pura Mangkunegaran are two inseparable elements. Since 1944 he has been trusted to be a private doctor Pura Mangkunegaran and he continued to carry this task until his death. [2]

Indeed, Dr. Oen is believed to handle the health of the whole Mangkunegaran family, from sons to employees. It is also believed he was the private doctor of Gusti Nurul. [2]

Dr. Oen was intimate with Mangkunagoro VIII and became the adoptive father of Mangkunagoro IX. He also later gave the name of Wu Yi to Mangkunagoro IX. [2]

Berkat dedikasinya bagi Pura Mangkunegaran khususnya, dan penduduk Surakarta pada umumnya, pada 11 September 1975 Dr Oen menerima gelar "Kandjeng Raden Toemenggoeng (KRT) Obi Darmohoesodo" dari Pura Mangkunegaran. Gelar itu kemudian dinaikkan menjadi "Kandjeng Raden Mas Toemenggoeng (KRMT) Hario Obi Darmohoesodo” pada 24 Januari 1993. [1]

Thanks to his dedication to Pura Mangkunegaran in particular, and the residents of Surakarta in general, on September 11, 1975 Dr. Oen received the title of "Kandjeng Raden Toemenggoeng (KRT) Obi Darmohoesodo" from Pura Mangkunegaran. The title was later raised to "Kandjeng Raden Mas Toemenggoeng (KRMT) Hario Obi Darmohoesodo" on 24 January 1993. [2]

Dr. Oen has his own "place" in the eyes of the Mangkunegaran family. Not surprisingly, when he died, the funeral ceremony was performed using the Mangkunegaran tradition, an honor that can not be obtained by just anyone. [2]

Tulus tanpa pandang bulu - Sincere and unconditional

A few days after the departure of Dr Oen who died on October 30, 1982, both national and local newspapers tried to re-examine the role of the doctor. The conclusions of the various reports; The public obviously feels the loss of the figure of Dr. Oen, who is known to be sincere and unconditional treating patients, something that may be hard to find again in the future. [2]

Ya, ketika pasiennya tidak mampu menebus obat, beliau tak segan untuk merogoh kocek pribadinya. Dia bahkan mulai membuka praktiknya sejak pukul 03.00 pagi ! [1]

Yes, when his patient was unable to make up for the medicine, he did not hesitate to spend his personal money. He even started practicing from 3 AM ! [2]

Under his handling, the stereotype that "health must be expensive" was broken. People who previously saw the hospital as a "haunted" place, now began to dare to check the disease. [2]

Thanks to his dedication, the residents of Surakarta see him as a protector of the 'small' people. [2]

Menambal sejarah - Patch History

According to RM Daradjadi, there is a kind of intersection between the philosophy of life Dr Oen with Javanese culture. He succeeded in applying the teachings of lonely ingenuity or working hard without expecting material rewards. [2]

Already proven, though born as a Chinese, Dr Oen lived the Javanese culture and traditions. In addition, he also managed to capture the message of Mangkunagoro I (Prince Sambernyawa), written in the Fiber Wedhatama, on three important points of life, namely: rumangsa melu handarbeni (feel of belonging), melu hangrungkebi (responsible for maintaining), and malat Sarira hangrasa wani (dare to self-correct). [2]

For RM Daradjadi, Dr Oen is considered successful in applying and living according these points during his life. [2]

Through this Ravando textbook, Dr. Oen: Small Fighter and Protector of the ordinary people (?), displayed the figure of Dr Oen successfully in full. In addition, the reader seemed to be brought to explore the soul of the era that was developing at the time. [2]

''Written with a historical approach, the sources used also vary, ranging from archives, newspapers, bulletins, magazines, warning books, to interviews. Through Dr Oen's life narrative, it is hoped that various Indonesian historical vacuums, especially during the revolution, can be slightly patched up. [2]

In addition, this biography can also be a comparison reference for the labeling of economic animal that is often pinned to the Chinese. Dr Oen's track record has proven it. [2]

Hi Susan and Hin Gwan,

Not sure why he is named Boen Ing Oen here, but looking at all info, was wondering shouldn't his name be Dr. Oen Boen Ing ? With Dr. Oen for preferred or Nickname perhaps ? Not used to work on Indonesian profiles (yet), so forgive me if I'm wrong, think I'd better check the naming convention first eeh :P

Added the project template and translation to the profile, and the ref name tags we use for repeated sources, but not sure if all translated parts are perfect, so perhaps you could check it for errors and correct or adjust sentences a bit to make it look better ?

Many thanks in advance, it's of course really appreciated :)
