Hi Susan, some time ago, I sent you a trusted list request for Wilkins-6971 who is categorised as an Australian notable. Would you like me to send the trusted list request again? Thanks so much, Gillian

Dear Wikitreer:

my name is Cristina Corbellani and I’m Team Leader for the Italian Diaspora section of the Italy project on Wikitree. You are receiving this email because you expressed an interest in the Italian Diaspora. The aim of this part of the project is to identify the migrant Italians to connect their families of origin in Italy with their descendants abroad. We have specific resources for this purpose which are explicited here: https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Italian_Roots_Diaspora. If you are new to Italian genealogy or are not familiar on how to trace a migrant ancestor, I’d like to invite you to join us the next September 30th to October 2nd. On those dates we will doing the Source-a-Thon as Team Italy, a friendly competition in which we locate sources for as many unsourced profiles as we can over an extended weekend. But the important thing is that, whether you join the competition officially or not, or if you are joining another team (which you can do here if you like: https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/1463120/register-now-for-the-2022-source-a-thon ), if you drop by on the #Italy channel on Discord you’ll find almost always during those days someone ready to help you with your research, translations or resources websites. Or you can just drop by to say hello! We always have great fun during these events. Hoping to hear back from you soon, best regards, Cristina.

Dear Cristina,

I am interested in the Italian diaspora project for the sake of my husband, who is Italian. We put together the tree we have with the help of elderly members of the family, but we are short on official sources. I can read and write Italian fluently, even though I am not Italian, and am quite prepared to translate, but I don't think I will take part in the Source-a Thon as I am not as young as I used to be. If you need any help in translating, however, by all means contact me. Sue

Thanks for your reply, Susan. Yes, Italian sources for certain regions and certain periods of time are hard to get by and that's why we're trying to aproach people to offer the resources we know of. Thank you for the offer to translate! Best regards, Cristina

Hi!

This is Chris from the Italy Project. As part of the annual project check-in, can you fill in the project survey? This will let us know that you are still interested in the project and which teams you'd like to participate in.

Thanks and have a great day!

Hi Susan,

I noticed that you've entered a lot of information for Charles Knee, who is my 2nd great grandfather from China. Are you related to him?

Best wishes Dianne Pryor nee Wharton

posted by Dianne (Wharton) Pryor
Not sure my reply got through. No, not related to the Knees, but Charles was a neighbour of my Alterator ancestors out of Scone. I decided a while ago to see if I could find as many of the Scone Chinese community as I could and see if I could find their marriages and some info on them.

Glad to hear from a descendant of the Knees.

Hi Susan,

It’s time for our annual Ireland Project check-in! Please respond within the next two weeks to let me know:

  • If you are happy with the team you’re on or if you’d like to make a change. It is now required that all members with an Ireland project badge work on at least one of the project’s team(s), so if you’ve not yet signed up please do so in your reply to this check-in.
  • What you think the project is doing well, and what (if any) changes you would like to see us make? Are there any teams you would like to become more active in?
  • Would you be interested in helping to work on an Ireland Project newsletter?
  • Please give us some feedback on the use of google group and discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way for us to ensure you receive project communications? If you would like to join us on either one, Just let us know in your response and we will get you signed up.

Please respond to this message by posting a reply below or sending me a private message on WikiTree. If we don’t hear from you within two weeks, we will assume you are no longer interested in participating in the Ireland Project, and your badge will be removed. If you wish to reapply for membership later, we will be happy to have you back. Many thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely, Jen Hutton, on behalf of the Ireland Project

Ciao! This is just a general check-in for members of the Italy project. I am checking to see who is still interested in being a member of the project as we go through some much needed restructuring. I was also wondering what teams you would like to be on. We’ve created teams for each part of Italy. North, South, Islands etc. They will be explained further in an upcoming g2g post. Stay tuned. For now, please let me know if you are still interested in the project and if you’d like to be a member of a team.

Hi Susan,

A merge of the Hoppringle profiles looks reasonable to me as well. I don't have pre 1500 clearance, so please proceed. Thank you!

Hi Susan

The Ireland Project (previously the Irish Roots Project) has now changed its structure into Teams. We require everyone with the Ireland Badge to be a member of at least one Team or Sub-Team and our google group.

See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Ireland for details.

The Teams are :-

1 Categories Team
2 Counties Team
3 Managed Profiles Team
4 Membership Team
5 Profile Improvement Team
6 Topics Team
7 Diaspora

Can you let me know if you’d like to stay on in the new project and which team(s) you’d like to join. Please also let me know your e-mail address so that I can get you added to the project’s Google Group or confirm you are already a member of the google group.

Many thanks,

Hi Susan.

We have chatted extensively before, my distant cousin. I strongly suspect your Allchurch 108 and my Allchurch 3 are siblings. Your 108 moved to Rowley Regis where his wife's family hailed from. Prior to this our common Allchurche's and their spelling variances lived and died around Old Swinford and Kingswinford, twin villages. My Allchurch 4 also married and moved to Rowley Regis. Small World, lol. WOrth considering, Regards, Chris.
