Biography
John was born in 1801. He Married Mary Marshall in Ireland and had 2 sons, Jeremiah and Maurice. Mary died and he married Ellen Daley and they had 3 sons, William, James and John. Ellen had previously been married to and had two children with Richard Kenefick, John and Catherine.
John came to Australia in 1844 on the Abberton.
He died 13 Aug 1880 in Richmond[1]
Reg No 8191 John MAHONEY (misspelling of Mahony) Fathers Name Jeremiah Spouse at death Ellen DALY Age at Death: 84 This age does not match that given on the Abberton.
At the time of his death he was living at Highett Street in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He was a farmer.
He signed his will this with an e, although all references to his sons are spelled without. Bequests are made to his wife Ellen. James Madden Licensed Victualler and Richard Garvin Baker, his sons and stepson John Kenefick.[2]
