History: "Hampton, New Hampshire, first called Winnacunnet, was settled in 1638 by the Reverend Stephen Bachiler (ca. 1561–1656) and a small group of followers from Newbury, Massachusetts. While settlement had commenced in the summer of that year, the church was dedicated by Mr. Bachiler on 14 October 1638, the date usually considered as the beginning of the town. But the grant from the government of the Province of the Massachusetts Bay (which exercised control over the area at the time), was given on 6 June 1639, when Hampton was "allowed to be a town and hath power to choose a constable and other officers." Thus the town of Hampton officially dates from 1639." Quoted from NH Vital Records to 1900; Hampton.

Nudd-12 and Nudd-65 appear to represent the same person because: As explained on profile James Nudd these are the same person. The death date for Nudd-12 appears to be a simple error. The death for profile Nudd-65 is cited by the source used in Nudd-12.
Hello Charles, Currently there are 2 James Nudd profiles. I'm going to initiate a merge. Background: James was bap. with his sister Mary Nudd on 10 Aug 1707, Hampton, Rockingham, New Hampshire. He m. Abigail Thomas, 10 Aug 1726, Hampton. His death date is noted by secondary source Dow as being 27 May 1753 at Hampton (same Dow quoted herein). I'm uncertain where you obtained this profile's death date of 17 Mar 1780 as I'm unable to replicate it. It may be a pick-up error from one of his children? In any case, please approve the merge after you've reviewed profile James Nudd although if you have any questions please give me a shout. Sincerely, Leigh Anne.
