Biography

NAME: Perhaps Abigail Netherton was named for her paternal aunt, Abigail Rhodes. RESEARCH: Reference for birth date? BIOGRAPHY: Abigail Morgan came to Ray Co., MO with her family very early. It seems that her h usband Evan Morgan died very early, as his name does not appear on a tax list for 1821 in Ra y Co., MO. With her children, her brothers and other family members, Abigail Morgan moved t o Daviess Co. MO in 1833/4. Abigail was a charter member of the Grand River Baptist Church i n 1836, along with her daughter Mary Black, and brother Moses Netherton and sister-in-law Jan e Netherton. It is likely she was the 'old lady named Morgan' who died in the spring of 1840 /41 and was buried in Everly cemetery.
