Philip Nash was born on February 12, 1844, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Margaret Prickett, age 29, and Philip Nash, age 31. Philip Nash married Mary Jane Snow on November 20, 1862, when he was 18 years old. His wife Mary Jane passed away on November 10, 1877, in Franklin, Ohio, at the age of 33. They had been married 14 years. Philip Nash secondly married Susan King on August 28, 1879, when he was 35 years old. Philip Nash thirdly married Lucy Elizabeth Clinehaben in Hamilton, Ohio, on October 4, 1906, when he was 62 years old. Philip Nash died on September 30, 1927, in Hamilton, Ohio, when he was 83 years old. He was buried at Woodhill Cemetery in Franklin, Warren County, Ohio

Philip Nash and Mary Jane Snow were married by Reverend M. T. Bowman on November 10, 1862 in Butler County, Ohio.[1][2]

2nd Marriage

Philip Nash married Sue King on August 28, 1879 in Warren County, Ohio.[3]

3rd Marriage

Philip Nash and Lucy Willey were married by Reverend Wm. A. Waldo at First Baptist Church on October 4, 1906 in Butler County, Ohio.[4][5]

Also in the household were Margt. Nash, age 36, born in Ohio, who could not read and write, Martha Nash, age 13, born in Ohio, Sarah Nash, age 10, born in Ohio, Charity Nash, age 9, born in Ohio, Wm. C. Nash, age 5, born in Ohio, Rebecca Nash, age 2, born in Ohio, Minerva Nash, age 11 months, born in Ohio, and Malon Grant, age 14, born in Ohio.[6]

In 1870, on the 25th day of July, Philip Nash, age 25, farm laborer, born in Ohio, was enumerated as the head of the household, and he lived in Union Township, Butler County, Ohio. Also in his household were Mary Nash, age 24, housekeeper, born in Ohio, Wm Clinton Nash, age 6, born in Ohio, who attended school but could not read and write, Anna Eliza Nash, age 5, born in Ohio, Geo Clifford Nash, age 3, born in Ohio, Jno. Frank Nash, age 5 months (December), born in Ohio.[7]

Death

Philip Nash, age 84, died at 8:45 pm, Friday on 30 September 1927 at his home, 854 N. 2nd Street in Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio.[8] The funeral service was taken place at his home on Tuesday at 10:00 am.

Burial

Philip Nash was buried at Woodhill Cemetery in Franklin, Warren County, Ohio.[9]

Hamilton Evening Journal on 1 June 1929 published in the second column[10] as it said:

Nash, Frank Nash, Philip Nash, Jr., Anna Summersett, Glen Nash, Dorothy Nash Reynolds, Kathryn Nash, a minor 20 years old, Madra Nash, a minor 10 years old, Otto Nash, a minor 12 years old, children and grandchildren and sole heirs at law of Philip Nash, dec’d., and The Lincoln Building Loan and Savings Co., Defendants; Probate Court, Butler County, State of Ohio.

William C. Nash, who resides at 237 South Park Avenue, Neenah, Wisconsin; Frank Nash, who resides at R. D. No. 3, Box 16, Kalamazoo, Michigan; Philip Nash, Jr., who resides at 339 North Fresno St., Fresno, Calif.; Glen Nash, who resides at 127 Spring street, Portland, Maine; Dorothy Nash Reynolds, who resides at 216 South Andrew Street, Three Rivers, Michigan; Kathryn Nash, who resides at 216 South Andrew Street, Three Rivers, Michigan; Madra Nash, who resides at 216 South Andrew Street, Three Rivers, Michigan; and Otto Nash, who resides at 216 South Andrew Street, Three Rivers, Michigan, will take notice that Lucy E. Nash, Administratrix of the estate of Philip Nash, deceased, on the 31st day of May, 1939, filed her petition in the Probate Court of Butler County, Ohio, alleging that the personal estae of said decedent is insufficient to pay the debts and the charges of administration of said estate; that he died in fee simple of following described real estate, to-wit:

First, Tract—All that part of lot No. 2876 fronting on the east side of North Second Street in the Third Ward of the City of Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio, and extending eastwardly the entire width of said lot 30 feet to a ten-foot alley, which said alley in to be kept forever open and perpetually maintained as such by the grantee, his heirs and assigns.

Second Tract: The undivided one half in and to 7 feet of the ground taken evenly off the east side of lot No. 13442 and entire lot No. 13343 as said lots are known and designated upon the revised list of lots in the First Ward of the City of Hamilton, Butler County, Ohio.

That Lucy E. Nash, the widow of said decedent, is entitled to dower in said real estate and The Lincoln Building Loan and Savings Co. claims to hold a mortgage thereon for $275.00. The prayer of the petition is for the assignment of dower to Lucy E. Nash in said properly and that The Lincoln Building Loan and Savings Co. be required to answer setting forth the particulars of its mortgage lien thereon and that said property be sold to pay the debts and charges aforesaid.

William C. Nash, Frank Nash, Philip Nash, Jr. Glen Nash, Dorothy Nash Reynolds, Kathryn Nash, Madra Nash and Otto Nash are hereby notified that they have been made parties defendant to said petition and that they are required to answer the same on or before the 27th day of July, 1929.
