Susan M. King was born to John and Elizabeth King on June 6, 1840, in Pennsylvania.
Although she did not marry, she had a daughter with an unknown man. The daughter's name was Pearlie King, who was born in 1869. She kept her maiden name, King, and used it as her daughter's last name.
Ten years after Pearlie was born, Susan married Philip Nash on August 28, 1879, in Warren County, Ohio. Their son, Charles L. Nash, was born in 1881 but sadly passed away in 1883.
The exact time of Susan's separation or divorce from Philip Nash between 1883 and 1900 remains uncertain.
