Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! Itβs very important to read and understand the Help:Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.
Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.
I'm trying to put in my father's Y haplotype. I only seem to be able to enter DNA on my own profile? Should I put the y group there even if I'm a lady :)?
As you have been a member of WikiTree for a few weeks now, I thought I would check in to see how you are getting on with the site.
Has the New Member How-To been helpful, or left you with any questions?

Thank you for adding your DNA Test to your profile on WikiTree. Getting Started with DNA will tell you more about how DNA kits are used on WikiTree.
DNA at WikiTree provides a visual way for you to find others who have tested and have the potential of having common ancestors. To get the best results, you need to start with yourself and add sourced profiles for your ancestors until you can connect to existing profiles in WikiTree. 24 hours later, your test will have populated on the profiles of your ancestors and their descendants, where others with potential matches may also appear.
Let me know if you have any questions, and have fun!
I am very pleased to welcome you to the WikiTree family, your contributions will go a long way to joining the world together.
I would suggest starting with the New Member How-To pages, they will save you a lot of time and frustration.
I am here to answer any question you have, no matter how trivial you may think it is. There is no such thing as a silly question. Please add as much information as you can, it all helps to turn a βnameβ back into a person. I hope you enjoy the site as much as I do.
Happy tree climbing

P.S. If links do not work in an email from WikiTree, try them from the comment section on your profile page.
π If you click on the edit tab on your profile page, you can edit your name and any other information there. It look like you have not confirmed your email address, that will be a link sent to your email address, you may have to check your spam box, as sometimes it does go there. Once that has been done you can then click on the "upgrade" link on your profile page, or your navigation page, and then you can create profiles for your ancestors.
If you have privacy concerns, you can set your privacy level to show only the information you are happy for other people to see, the highest setting for an active WikiTree-er is the red setting, it shows the decade you were born. Due to new privacy laws that came out in May 2018.
any profiles you create for people who are still living and are not active on WT will have their privacy level automatically set to "unlisted" status, so the only people who will be able to see their information will be you and anyone you add to a trusted list for that profile. Each profile has their own trusted list.
I hope this helps, any problems, please let me know.
Hey! Thanks so much I fixed it. I don't really want to spend the time to make my own tree, but I thought I'd edit and add to other's trees. Do I just message the owner then?
Glad to help, yes, you can either post a message on the persons profile, or send a message to the profile manager, as you are a guest member you can only edit your profile, to be able to edit others, you would need to upgrade, and in some cases ask the profile manager to add you to a trusted list for the person you wish to edit.

Can I edit my name? I sound like I have a stutter (Amanda Amanda Myers) right now. :')
I also have data to fill out family trees (Meininghaus, Rix). How do I add that so others can see?
Cheers, Amanda
