Not until the 1850 census do we find any detail on the family, living in Wayne County, North Carolina.[1]
Grady Mosingo (sic) (Graddy Mozingo) b. c. 1805 - farmer
Mary Mosingo, 37
Among their children were:
John Mosingo, 16 - farmhand
Sarah Mosingo, 12
Unity Mosingo, 10
Elizabeth Manngo (sic) (Mozingo), 7 [presumptive - no notes on the census record indicate a different family relationship - the page turned and perhaps the census taker failed to look back at the previously used surname spelling - the spelling of which was also incorrect]
Babo Manngo, 5 [presumptive]
In the 1860 census, Graddy's household is now Fork District, Wayne, North Carolina.[2]
Graddy Mozingo b. c. 1800
Polly Mozingo, 51
Children in the household:
* Unity Mozingo, 18, m. 14 Oct 1869 William L Peacock[3]
* Betsy (presumably Elizabeth Manngo from 1850), 16
* Barbara Mozingo (presumably Babo Manngo from 1850), 13
William Mozingo, 17 - not captured in 1850(?) - farm laborer; William m. 27 Jan 1870 Temperance Pike[4]
Lastly, in the 1870 Pikeville, Wayne census, Graddy Mozingo, now reported as 67 is living with his wife, Polly (57) and the following children:

He passed away in 1880.
