Oswald Mosley Bt MP FGS was born in Staffordshire, England.

Sir Oswald Mosley, 2nd Bt. was born on 27 March 1785. He was the son of Oswald Mosley and Elizabeth Tonman.

He was educated at Rugby School, and at Brasenose College, Oxford where he graduated as a Doctor of Civil Law

He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Mosley on September 29, 1798.

He married Sophia Annie Every on January 31, 1804. They had 13 children[1]

He was a Member of Parliament for Portarlington (1807), Winchelsea (1808), Midhurst (1816) and North Staffordshire (1832). He was also a High Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1814 and was invested as a Fellow of the Geological Society

He wrote:

  1. History of the Castle, Priory and Town of Tutbury (1832),
  2. Family Memoirs, which was published 1849.
  3. Gleanings in Horticulture (1851)
  4. Natural History of Tutbury (1863)

He died on 24 May 1871 at age 86.[2]
