Biography

Bookkeeping Diploma attained by The Assoc of Accountants of Australia Inc. Jack was owner/manager of Alba Floor Service, many letters of Thanks for work on floors around Melbourne sent by appreciation inc Churches, Kindergartens, YMCA's etc. Merit Certificate from Education Dept for Elementary Schools Armadale, Vic 1932.

Pa was always a kind caring gentleman, he took pride in caring for all family members and had a way of making everyone welcomed and treasured his wife, Nancy. (Morton nee Edwards) and family living in Perth WA. He opened his door to many family members when in need of somewhere to live, and helped Nan's family in Port Melbourne, enjoying the "occasional" drink with some at the local Pub, eventually settling with Nan in Frankston/Vic. Jack (Pa) served in the Army and went to Perth WA in 1943. He had many life long friends and outlived nearly all he knew.

Many memories of being at Nan & Pa's with Pa in the woodworking shed out the back. Pa always sat at the Head of the Table for Dinner, enjoyed a game of chess, reading the newspaper after dinner and taking Nan and the dogs to the local park in the old van he had for his floor sanding business. I recall also his brother Syd, who lived with them in the 80's was politely asked to take his Cigarette's outside, but Pa always made sure he had plenty of tobacco and papers on hand for him when we walked to the shops on Heatherhill Rd.
