Biography

Jean Baptiste was born 26 Apr 1823 and was baptized the next day in St-Louis de Kamouraska. He was the son of Jean Baptiste Morin and Scholastique Soucy. Godparents were Charles Morin and Victoire Dionne, no signatures. ^[1]

On 6 Feb 1855, in St-André de Kamouraska, Jean Vincent Morin adult son of Jean Baptiste Morin and the late Scholastique Soucy married Eléonore Bérubé adult daughter of Raphaël Bérubé and the late Catherine Tardif. ^[2]

Jean Vincent Morin, 82 years and 7 months old, son of Jean Baptiste Morin and Marie Soucy, died of Bright's disease on 31 Oct 1908 at 592 Rimmon, Manchester, N.H. He had been a resident for the last 15 years. He was interred at Mount Calvary cemetery in New Hampshire on 2 Nov 1908. ^[3]

Research Notes

A brother of Jean Baptiste was born with the name Vincent and could be the one who married Eléonore Bérubé. However the information in the death and burial record links Jean Vincent to the baptism of Jean Baptiste. The 1861 Canadian Census however would favor Vincent Ferrier as the brother who married Eléonore Bérubé. I have found only one of Jean Baptiste or Vincent Ferrier surviving to adulthood and I can find neither of the brothers in the 1851 Canada census. Note that the 1851 census records for St-Louis de Kamouraska have not survived.

• Vincent Ferrier was born 17 Apr 1833 and was baptized the next day in St-André de Kamouraska. He was the son of Jean Baptiste Morin and Scholastique Souci. Godparents were Pierre Hilary Michaud (signature) and Angèle Sirois dite Duplessis. ^[5]
