Lydia was born in 1784, in Darlington, South Carolina. She was the daughter of William A and Lydia (Smith) Morgan. She married William Timmons in 1799, in Darlington. They had two sons. Following William’s death in 1802, she left the boys with her parents and removed to Louisiana. There, she married John White, in 1806. They had ten children. She died in 1834, in East Feliciana, Louisiana, at the age of 49. She is buried in White Cemetery, East Feliciana alongside William and near several of their children.
