The children of Samuel and Abigail included (all born in Groton Township, New London, Connecticut):
- Samuel, born 26 Mar 1744.[2]
- Eleonor, born 6 Jan 1746.[3]
- Hannah, born 23 May 1748.[4]
- Amos, born 9 Nov 1750.[5]
- Abigail, born 26 Sept 1752.[6]
- Lydia, born 27 Sept 1752.[7]
- Jemima, born 31 Oct 1754.[8]
- Jesse, born 18 Jul 1761.[9]
It is not certain when Samuel died. In the original profile, it was listed without source that he died in 1734; however this is inconsistent with his children. There is a death record is for a Samuel Morgan, died December 1769 in Preston, New London, Connecticut, but there is also a census record for Samuel Morgan in New London in 1790. There is no basis to tell if either of these or neither applies to this Samuel.
