Biography

Fanny Morgan was born at Papanui in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand on 11th May 1864, the first child and eldest daughter of Edwin Morgan and his wife Elizabeth Price.^[1]

On 22nd February 1880, 10 weeks before her 16th birthday, she married Henry James Philip Boyce in New Zealand.^[2] The couple had four known sons before Henry died on 1st January 1916.

On 8th September 1920, a few months after her 56th birthay, she married Angus Bethune in New Zealand, possibly in Wellington.^[3] The couple had no children. Angus died at Taradale in the Tararua district on 1st January 1926 aged 64.

On 21st April 1927, shortly before her 63rd birthday, she married John Henry Orry Thorndike in New Zealand. John died at Dannevirke on 4th April 1932 aged 73.

Fanny died at Dannevirke on 27th October 1940 when she was 76. Two days later she was buried at Mangatera Cemetery in the Main Section, Block ZJ, Plot #2.^[4]
