Occupation: Cooper or coopersmith most of his life. He worked for HH King Flour in Minnesota, and later for Pillsbury Flour in Minneapolis.
In late life, he was a grocer.
The marriage certificate says that before marriage, Frank lived in Goodhue County and Susan in Rice County.
In 1888, Frank was working in Minneapolis for Hennepin County Barrel Company. The children may have stayed with Susan's parents in Wisconsin for a time.
Note: Ida, it seems, had a daughter, Jennie, from previously. Jennie, born 1881, who, became a teacher before her marriage to Anton Bolstad. They had one daughter.
After their marriage, they settled in the town of Dundas, in Rice County, Minnesota. Frank probably made barrels for the Archibald Mill, in Dundas, on the banks of the Cannon River
Residences of Frank and Ida Morgan- They lived in Anoka, MN for many years, then moved to Minneapolis, where they lived at: 3812 11th Ave S,. In about 1925, they downsized, and moved to 2200 Garfield Ave S in Minneapolis, MN. Frank died while they lived at that house.
This certainly had to be a difficult time for Frank, who was mourning the loss of his young wife, and also needed to find help to take care of his children, while he tried to make a living. In 1888, Frank was working in Minneapolis for Hennepin County Barrel Company. The children may have stayed with Susan's parents in Wisconsin for a time. There is a photo taken of the three boys about that time. The picture was taken at a studio in Eau Claire, WI, close to Naples, where they lived.
After their marriage, they settled in the town of Dundas, in Rice County, Minnesota. Frank probably made barrels for the Archibald Mill, in Dundas, on the banks of the Cannon River. Actually, there were several mills in the vicinity, and they contributed greatly to the success of Dundas, at that time
back to Rice County, Minnesota, in 1899, to Faribault for a while, when he worked for H.H. King Flour Mill Company, making flour barrels. He was listed in the City Directory that year. Faribault was one of Minnesota's most important milling centers for years.
hey moved to Minneapolis, from Anoka in about 1900. Frank worked for a cooperative enterprise. N.S. Bbl Co. making barrels for about two years and the family lived at 836 17th Avenue South. Two years later, Frank opened his first store, it was a confectionary shop, at 1614 Franklin, which was a small grocery store.
about 1907 they bought a home at 3812 11th Avenue South, in Minneapolis. The 1910 U.S. Census found Frank, Ida and Harry, now 16, living at the house on 11th Ave. This was a big two story white house, in a pleasant neighborhood. Between the years of 1911 and 1918 or so, Frank owned and operated another grocery store at 733 South 4th in Minneapolis, F.M. Morgan. He returned to being a cooper in 1920. He had worked making barrels for nearly 50 years, off and on!
Frank and Ida, downsized their home, and moved to 2200 Garfield Avenue South in about 1924
