Mary was born in 1856 at Victoria Crescent, Newport, the daughter of Thomas John Morgan, attorney's clerk, and Jemima Morgan formerly Williams. Mary was baptised on 07 May 1856 at St Paul's, Newport. [1]
In the 1861 Census, Mary, aged 4 scholar, was living at Victoria Crescent, Newport. Also at this house were her father Thomas S. Morgan, aged 36, solicitor's clerk, mother Jemima Morgan, aged 39, sister Emily J aged 11 scholar, sister Rosa A aged 8 scholar, brother Fred J aged 6 scholar, sister Ada aged 3 scholar and brother Charles M aged 0. Mary Newton aged 15 was the house servant.
In the 1871 Census, Mary aged 14 was living at Hill Street, Newport with her parents, Thomas J. aged 45, and Jemima aged 42 and siblings Frederick J aged 16, Ada aged 13, Charles M aged 10, Albert E aged 9, George aged 5 and Arthur aged 0. Susannah Dawson aged 18 was the domestic servant.
Mary, aged 20 years single, of 9 Marlborough Terrace, Roath, married William Robbins, aged 22 years, single, contractor on 21 Dec 1876 at the Wesleyan Methodist Chapel, Roath-road, Cardiff.
In the 1881 Census, Mary aged 24 was living with her husband William M aged 26, architect at 107 High Street Ilfracombe, Barnstaple, Devon. Also in the home were their daughter Clara M scholar aged 3, son Alfred aged 1, William's mother Margaret Robbins aged 51, Mary A Baker general servant aged 19 and Eliza Fry nurse servant aged 16.
In the 1891 Census, Mary Robbins, aged 34, married, was living at Park Street, Newport. Her mother Jemima Morgan, widow aged 61 was the head of the household living on her own means. Also in the house were Mary's brothers Frederick T, aged 36, single, mariner and Walter M. aged 21 single, waterproof manufacturer assistant, and Illtyd J David, aged 34, [married to Mary's sister Ada Monnier Morgan], son in law to Jemima and shorthand writer.
Mary passed away in 1895 at 89 Chepstow Road, Newport. Her death certificate states that she was the widow of William Robbins, architect. The informant was her brother Arthur H. Morgan.
Mary was interred at Holy Trinity Church Cemetery in Christchurch, Wales.
