Biography
James was born in 1842. He was the son of Samuel Morgan and Sarah Coombs.
Per a Soldier's Home record, James enlisted for service during the U.S. Civil War on 28th Nov 1862 and served as private in Co. G. of the U.S. Cavalry. He was discharged 28th Nov 1865 at San Antonio Texas when his term had expired. This service differs than what is on his grave stone but the hospital record named his son William H. Morgan of Connersville.
He was married in 1867 to Elizabeth P. Burt, daughter of John Burt and Mary K. Fry.
He passed away in 1915. His death record named his parents Samuel Morgan and Sarah Coombs.
