Frederick was born in 1807. An extract from the Mount Morgan Argus (link below) indicates:
"... at the age of 17 years he stole a piece of cloth from a tailors’ shop and after being tried for stealing at London’s Old Bailey he was sentenced to death with a recommendation for mercy. The sentence was changed to life imprisonment with transportation to Australia. He departed Portsmouth on August 24th 1825 and arrived Sydney on 3rd January 1826. ... In 1836 he met Emma Woodward, a free immigrant who with her mother and two brothers had arrived in Sydney in 1827. A friendship was developed and Frederick Augustus, their first son was born on 2nd June 1837. The couple married in 1851 four months prior to the birth of their 8th child. They eventually had 16 children. In 1856 they left Bathurst and went to Tenterfield he again became a publican receiving the licence of the “George Inn”.
Frederick passed away in 1886 at the home of his son Thomas Squire.
