Biography

Birth: 06 FEB 1667 New London, New London County, Connecticut[1]. He was a son of Mary (Vine) Morgan (abt.1641-1689) and James Morgan II (1644-1711).

First Marriage: BEF 1693, Groton, New London County, Connecticut, to "Hannah", or Susannah [2]. Note: The maiden surname of the first wife of this James Morgan probably was Rogers. His online grave memorial represents that it was Rogers (not Avery, as has been presumed in her profile, which came about via an improper merge). Investigation should be applied to verify her true identity.

Their children:

  1. James Morgan IV (1693-1770)
  2. Daniel Morgan (1695-)
  3. Mary (Morgan) Gallup (1697-)
  4. Anna (Morgan) Owen (1705-1743)

Second marriage, 24 Jun 1729 in New London County, Connecticut, to Ann (Shapley)(Avery) Ross, widow of Jonathan Ross.

Death: 04 MAY 1748 at Groton, New London County, Connecticut. His grave is in Avery-Morgan Burial Ground, Groton, New London County, Connecticut, USA [3].

Will: 29 MAR 1747 Groton, New London County, Connecticut
