Alexis Moret was born and baptized on 4 Oct 1732 in (cathédrale Sainte-Anne), Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière, Canada, Nouvelle-France. His parents were Louis Morais and Marie Thérèse Bois. Godparents at the infant's baptism were Philippe Ignace Gaspe and Marie Madeleine Gastongay. The officiating priest was Gastongue.[1][2]

Marriage
Alexis Morest married Marie Catherine Gagnon, daughter of Jean Baptiste Gagnon and Marguerite Serien, on 8 Jun 1761 in Notre-Dame-de-Liesse parish of Rivière-Ouelle. In the presence of known witnesses Jean Morest, Joseph Lévêque and François Gagnon. [File states: The last name of the husband's mother has been omitted - The three bans have been published][3]

Death and Burial
Alexis Morais passed away on 26 Aug 1821 being given the age of around 91 years on the record. His burial was the 28th in Notre-Dame-de-Liesse parish cemetery of Rivière-Ouelle, Bas-Canada.[4]

Morest-2 and Morais-142 appear to represent the same person because: Morais is the standardized spelling, as per Drouin Collection, for LNAB, same birth/death date, parents, spouse, (please note that the Burial record has Morais)

I changed the LNAB to Moret since that is how it is spelled on the baptism record. Feel free to adjust the 'current' last name if desired.
