Biography

I've been involved in genealogy since the early 1990's. I originally started off with a number of trees from different branches of the family and, over the years, completed my whole tree. My ancestry is French Canadian (with 97% French origins and a sprinkle of British).

I have also been making trees for friends and colleagues to see where we connect. My database has grown significantly over the years and I'm trying to source it as much as possible.

The advent of DNA testing has opened up a whole new world of possibilities for validating lines and finding new distant relatives.

Current road blocks

• My ggg-grandmother Jane Smith, born about 1822 in Bridgnorth, Shropshire, England. I haven't found her parents. Her Brooklyn marriage record could prove useful but I haven't found it yet.
• My daughters' German ancestry: their maternal grandfather Hans Paschke was born in Breslau, Schlesien, Deutschland in 1939 but aside from the names of his parents and siblings (and a few dates), I haven't been able to go up that tree. I did find a number of far removed cousins on FamilyTreeDNA, MyHeritage and Gedmatch, but nothing close and no serious leads.
• My Bousquet line: the paper trail seems accurate but I'd love to find other North American Bousquet males with a Y-DNA result so we can compare.
