Biography of Mary de Moravia

Mary (Moravia) de Moravia is a member of Clan Murray.

Mary was the daughter of Freskin de Moravia of Duffus and Strabrok and his wife Johanna.[1][2] Upon her father's death sometime before 1269, she and her younger sister Christian inherited all of his properties. These included the Castle of Duffus in Moray and that barony; the barony of Strabrok in Lothian; and lands in Strathnavir and Caithness.[3] Mary married Reginald le Chen, 3rd of Inverugie, and her sister Christian married William de Federeth.

Mary de Moravia and Sir Reginald le Chen had at least four children:

  • Sir Reginald le Cheyne, 4th of Inverugie; b. c1270; m. Helen Strathearn
  • (daughter) le Cheyne, m. Sir Andrew Fraser of Philorth
  • Francis (or Freskyn) le Cheyne, 1st of Straloch; b. c. 1275; m. Isabel Comyn
  • Elena le Cheyne, b. c1280; m. Sir William Moubray

Adam, I changed dob to c 1255 but this is now throwing up an "error" in view of siblings dob.

Also dod cannot be 1366 if born c1255.
