Hello

It’s time for a Project check-in!

Scotland Project Leaders check in with you at least once a year to see how you are doing. With the changes happening around the world, we understand that life is hectic right now.

What are you planning to work on for the Scotland Project this year? Are you happy with the team(s) you part of, or would you like to make some changes?

This time round, we’re also looking for feedback on the use of Google Group and Discord. Do you use one or both of these? If you don’t use either of them, what is the best way to ensure you receive Project communications? If you would like to join us on Google Group or Discord, let us know in your response.

If you'd like to join us and help to develop our ever-expanding Scottish tree, please register on the G2G post here and be sure to mention you'd like to be on the Twisted Thistles team for Scotland.

We also have our team Chat page posted here.

Hi,

The Global Cemeteries Project is currently undergoing our member check-in and wanted to verify that you are still active and interested in being a member of the project. Are you currently assigned to or working with one of our Cemetery Teams? If not, is there a particular Team or area you are interested in participating with? I would be delighted to help you get setup in one or more of our collaborative teams!

We use Google Groups for internal project collaboration, so if you are not yet setup for access feel free to submit a join request and we will get that approved as quick as possible. We also ask that members check their follwed tags to make sure you are following the correct project tag (CEMETERIES) so you don't miss any disucssions in G2G.

Last, but not least, we would like to thank you for all of your contributions to WikiTree and let you konw that any ideas or suggestions for improvement you may have for the Global Cemeteries Project would greatly appreciated!

I look forward to hearing form you soon!

Hi Steve:

I will get involved in the Ontario / Toronto cemeteries project again, but the current pandemic has got me running full out at work right now. For the foreseeable future, I'm going to have to take a pass on the team. Cheers! Jonathan

Thanks for checking back in with me Jonathan. I have you on the roster for Ontario - and by all means, your participation level is your own, so please do not worry about any active commitments on the Global Cemeteries Project at this time. Stay safe!

Hi Jonathan,

As Team Leader for Inverness-shire in the Scotland Project, I'm just checking in with you to say hi and to ask you to let me know where your interests lie in the team. Check out the Team Page and look at what others are doing too. Maybe we can help each other out?

Please can you respond by e-mail.

Many thanks, Susie :-)

Hi Jonathan,

We realise the time has come to dissolve the UK Project in favour of the individual country projects of England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

We are checking in with all UK badge holders to find out which country project(s) you would like to be in so you can collaborate with other members, have the opportunity to select which team(s) you would like to join, and so we can ensure you have all the correct badges.

Please respond by PM to let us know which country project(s) you would like to be in. Please don’t assume we know. We are effectively starting from scratch to make sure no one falls through the cracks.

Once you have done this, the Coordinator for Membership in the relevant country project(s) will be in touch to help get you situated.

Many thanks,

Susie

Hi Jonathan meant to say that my brother and I have done the Family Finder and Autosomal DNA test on Ancestry and have shared our results to both FTDNA and My HERITAGE and to GENESIS.GEDMATCH. Will be interesting to see if you match my brother or to one of the other haplo group/Str's. Patricia

Hii Jonathan thank you for reply to my post on George MILLS of Jamaica, LI NY USA. So glad to hear that some one else is doing a Y DNA test of the MILLS of Canada. There are 2 others for sure who are in Canada who tested back before 2005. They both matched my brother at that time. 1. John MILLS B; ca 1733 of Sussex Co NJ and Grimsby, ON CAN his wife Rebecca SMITH. 2. Abraham MILLS B: ca 1800 of Charlotteville ON CAN, his wife Elizabeth LOUKS. The other fellow was descent from Lewis MILLS - Emaline HAMILTON 2ND Louise. THIS IS THE LINK TO THE Y DNA MILLS CHART - https://www.familytreedna.com/public/mills?iframe=yresults My brother is in Haplo Group I (eye) 2 a, str P37.2. Can see the others now matching each other. Look forward to seeing your results. Hope you will match them.

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for your speedy response! I couldn't see all of the details on the two profiles as they weren't open. I appreciate you looking and confirming they are not the same. You may want to comment on the other profile that it is not the same person as your Betty so they aren't merged in the future.

I'm so sorry for your loss! Prayers said for all of Paul's family in this sad time.

Hi Jonathan ,

Congratulations on being Pre-1700 certified!

Because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants, coordination is essential. Thanks for joining the UNITED_KINGDOM Project.

Hi Jonathan and thanks for your post on G2G.

The Scotland Project is part of the umbrella UK Project. I've therefore added the UK project badge to your profile. If you click on the badge it will take you to the full list of our wonderful members. Click on United Kingdom Project will take you the first page of the project. Scroll down to participants. I've added your good self and your Country of interest etc. I've also added you to the Scotland Project member interests page.

Thanks again for joining, enjoy and good luck with your research.
