Biography

Lucia Merendino is a Corleone native resident, the daughter of Maestro Gaspare Merendino and Nunzia Sances, who married in 1839.

Lucia marries Emmanuele Natoli, son of Antonio Natoli and Bernarda Lipari, on 20 April 1875. ^[1]

Emmanuele and Lucia have at least three children: Bernarda (c. 1877), named after her paternal grandmother, Nunzia (c. 1882), named after her maternal grandmother, as is traditional for the first and second born daughters; and Gaspare (1882), named after Lucia's father.

Bernarda marries Giuseppe Armato on 10 October 1897 in Corleone.^[2]

Nunzia marries Nicolo’ Jannazzo on 4 February 1902.^[3]

1910, Bernarda's husband, Giuseppe, is found guilty of counterfeiting charges. He is a member of Giuseppe Morello's gang in New York City.

Lucia is presumed to have died by 1921, when Emmanuele remarries.^[4]

Bernarda dies at age 70 (b. 1877) on 5 July 1947 in the Bronx.^[5]
