Biography

Thomas was born and baptised in Ochiltree, Ayrshire on the 8th April 1759. He was the son of William McFadden^[1]. There is no mention of his mother's name however she is likely to be Janet Graham from Dalrymple or Alloway, Ayrshire.

Sister Janet died in May 1791 and was interred in the burial ground on 31st May 1791. The burial record notes that her father was William McFadzean and her mother's name was Graham which confirm the above. ^[2]

If this is correct then his parents were married in Alloway, Ayrshire on 9th July 1747. ^[3]. The marriage was also recorded in the parish of Ayr on the same day. ^[4]
