Sarah was born about 1853 in Indiana to William McBee and Elizabeth Poland.
[1] In 1860, when Sarah was 7 years old, she was living with her parents and siblings in Wayne Township, Marion County, Indiana. Her father William was a farmer. [1] In 1870, when Sarah was 17 years old, the family was living in Middle Township, Hendricks County, Indiana in the Pittsboro Post Office area. [2]
On 6 Apr 1871, Sarah married William Forrest in Marion County, Indiana. [3][4]
Sarah and William had the following children:
William Henry Forrest 1872-1940
Thomas Samuel Forrest 1873-1953
Margaret Forrest 1875-1875
No further information has been found for Sarah at this time.
Research
There is a rumor that Sarah and William died in a boating accident and/or drowned. Searches of newspapers have not yet uncovered any evidence of this.
There is a baby girl Forrest buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, but it is not known if this is Margaret Forrest or not.
Sons William Henry and Thomas Samuel were living with their mother's parents in the 1880 Census, but were sent to live with Clark and Barbara Fuller in Durand, Wisconsin sometime in the early 1880's.
Clark and Barbara had previously lived in Indianapolis, but had removed to Wisconsin in 1867. Any relationship between the families has not yet been established.
