DIED.

At Selaby Hall, near Staindrop, on the 15th inst., after a short illness, in his 83rd year, Jacob Maude, Esq., formerly of Sunniside, Bishopwearmouth. His charities to the poor in the neighbourhood of his residence were boundless and genuine, being conferred for the sake of doing good, without ostentation or the least desire of display; and it may be truely observed that few men have closed a long and well spent life more justly revered and beloved by all who were acquainted with his manifold virtues.
