Biography

Catherine Mathers was born in Scotland about 1852. [1] Catherine is her name on most records, but her daughter labelled her portrait Kathleen. She married Joseph Stuart Pozzi 18 July 1878 in Sandymount, Dublin, Ireland in Sandymount Presbyterian church. [2] The Bible that became known as the Pozzi family Bible was given the newly wed Pozzis by the Minister who married them. The Bible records were kept current for many years, showing births deaths and marriages. Some of their children died in infancy:

By 1894 they lived at 56 Belgrave Square near Rathmines in Dublin, Ireland. [3] Joseph died that year and in 1901, Kate and children lived at 3 Waterloo Avenue, Dublin. Kate passed away from Lateral Spinal Sclerosis on the 27 May 1904. Her daughter Annie Mathers Pozzi was present when she passed away. [4]
