Amateur Marsault was born on 22 February 1799, and was baptized the same day in Rimouski. He was the son of Jean-Baptiste Marsault and Elisabeth Pineau.[1] He married Claire Dechamplain on 28 October 1821 in Rimouski.[2][3]
