Biography
Maria Rosa Marsalisi is born and baptized 12 July 1863, the daughter of Maestro Benedetto Marsalisi and Biagia d'Antoni. Her godmother is Gioachina Barcellona, a widow.
Maria Rosa marries Giuseppe Morello on 2 March 1889. Her parents have both died by this time.[1]
Maria Rosa and Giuseppe have at least two children, Angela (1891) and Calogero (c. 1893).
Angela, named after her paternal grandmother, dies at eleven months of age (b. Feb 1891) on 21 January 1892.
Giuseppe, age 25, immigrates to New York shortly before his son's birth. His sister, his mother and her husband and their children, all follow him in March 1893. She and Calogero sail with them. It's not known when she returns, or with whom.
Maria Rosa dies, reportedly at age 35 (it's only twelve days before her 35th birthday) on the morning of 30 June 1898. Giuseppe survives her. She is buried in the Maria Maddalena cemetery in Corleone.
According to Mafia Wiki, Calogero dies at age 20 (d. 1912).
