WEDDINGS

REDFERN- MALLOY.

An ornamental silver cake top which had graced the wedding cake of her sister was used at the reception which followed the wedding of Miss Kathrine Malloy and Mr. Thomas Redfern. The bride was the fourth daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Malloy, Myrtle Vale, Grenfell, and the bridegroom was Tom, the seventh son of Mr. and Mrs. William Redfern (Forbes). The bridegroom was a native of the Suntop (Wellington) district, where he resided, for over 30 years. The bride was given away by her father, and wore a trained gown of magnolia satin. Her veil was mounted on a coronet of orange blossom and was kindly lent by Mrs. Jim Heidtmann. On her arm rested a beautiful sheaf of gladioli and carnations with trails of maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by her two sisters, Misses Mollie and Elsie Malloy, and they wore twin frocks of pink georgette and picture hats to match. Mr. Norman Redfern acted as best man and Mr. Roy Redfern groomsman. Rev. Father McDade performed the ceremony. The reception was held at Mrs. Aston's refreshment rooms where the tables were decorated with myriads of gaily hued blooms of every species. On the centre table the three-tiered wedding cake held position of grace. Mrs. Malloy, who received the guests, wore a frock of black romaine, and her posy consisted of carnations and maidenhair fern. The bridegroom's gift to the bridesmaids was a gold wristlet watch each. The wedding cake was a gift of Mrs. E. Lyons and family. The happy couple left by car for Sydney. For travelling the bride chose a navy ensemble with accessories. The future home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Redfern will be at Garema. [5]
