FATAL FALL FROM HORSE

FORBES LAD'S SAD END

James Raymond Malloy, a lad of sixteen years, living with his parents on the Grenfell Road, left home on Sunday morning on his horse, and accompanied by his dogs.

He was not seen again until he was found lying in a stubble paddock, a few yards away from where his horse was standing.

He was unable to speak and was hurried into town. He was in a very critical condition, and passed away this morning.

The funeral will take place at 2 o'clock this afternoon, and the remains will be interred in the Catholic portion of the Grenfell cemetery.

The Malloy family has been very unfortunate, as this is its second death to occur in similar manner.

The other death was a son of the same age, which took place in the same month.^[4]

Verdict of Accidental Death - Forbes Advocate - 29 May 1925

VERDICT OF ACCIDENTAL DEATH.

At the Forbes Court House yesterday afternoon the District Coroner, Mr. W. T. Gilchrist, conducted an inquiry into the death of James Malloy, aged 16, who died in the District Hospital on May 18. After hearing evidence the Coroner returned a verdict that death was due to injuries received accidentally through a fall from a horse.^[5]
