Henry Wood Machen 1825-1897.
Henry was first married to Martha Tinsley (b. 1837) on 1/20/1855. He had one child, a daughter Susanna Machen b. 1855 (married Alexander Jordan 1/23/1890).
He then married Louisa M. Tinsley (b. 1835) on 11/7/1860. Martha and Louisa were the daughters of Thomas C. Tinsley, Jr. of S.C..
Before the war Henry was overseer for his Uncle William B. Machen. Henry served in the 31st Alabama Infantry, Company G with his brothers Aaron and Thomas. In June 20th of 1898, Louisa applied for widow's pension based on his confederate service.
