Postbellum

On April 10, 1865, James H Long filed for an invalid pension due to his service during the Civil War. He served in Company C, 14th Ohio Infantry; Company K, 68th Ohio Infantry; and Company E, Veteran Reserve Corps. His application was approved, and he received Certificate No. 42,221. After his death, his widow, Sarah, filed for a pension on May 5, 1870. Her application was approved, and she received Certificate No. 148,995. Sarah received a pension until she remarried. [4]
