Biography

The family of WILLIAMS AND ANN LIGHTFOOT was well researched by MORGAN in 1980, and placed on the old Ancestry website, not founded until 1983, and on computer, 1985, Ancestry updated their website, 1996, and this work was also updated again May 2, 2004, Entry: 3156, By Robert Reid. THE FAMILY OF REID/WILLIAMS/MORGAN/GREER/SANDIFER/BEARDEN/MCKENZIE/JOHNSTON/HOLCOMB/MICGUIRE/CAMERON AND STEWART was well researched in 1980 by Robert Reid and the above mentioned men and all their descendants of WILLIAMS back to james Williams and Mark Williams, born 1540. Robert Reid wanted to determine the male line of descent showing it was of European origin, and the female line of descent Near East descent. Also contributing to their work on the WILLIAMS family line back to 1540, were G. Mobley, D. Scott, T. Hunter, and J. Robinson. Dona Lorine Floyd is DNA matched to Roger Williams, born 1700. She wrote a book in 1972 on the Wiliams family, called the Williams Family History Book, with all of her information coming from direct descendants of the Williams family in Texas, Georgia, North and South Carolina, Virginia, Massachusetts, Rhode Island. Her work is copyrited in Washington, D. C. and is in libraries in Ft. Worth, Texas, Jasper County, Georgia, Texas State Library, Chamber of Commerce, Jasper County, Georgia. Her family include "Americans of Royal Descent", Colonial Dames, the Mayflower, Dames of the Magna Carta and the Daughters of the American Revolution, of which she is a Member under Elijah Cornwall, her connection being Williams/Cornwell. Luke Williams of Virginia is also a Revolutionary War Soldier, her ancestor. She is DNA matched to Roger Williams, born 1700, founder of Rhode Island,, Dona Floyd.
