Joseph Marie Lepage was born and baptized on 1 Dec 1760 in Saints-Anges-de-Lachine parish in Montréal. He was the son of Jacques Lepage and Marie Josephe Poirier. At age 26 Joseph married Jeanne Mallet on 27 Nov 1787 in Saint-Joachim parish in Chateauguay. There were eight known children born into this marriage. Joseph died at age 70 on 27 Jan 1831; he was buried as Joseph Roi two days later on 29 Jan in Chateauguay.
