From her daughter, Doris DeStadio:

Well when I say she was special, I am not just saying it, she was. She was always understanding, loving, kind and just the best mother anyone could ask for. She worked hard all her life, while she cleaned, cooked, sewed, sang and played the piano. And always encouraged us to followed in her footsteps. She raised 7 children and made sure we always had what we needed. She made sure that we all loved each other....and we did to the end. She was also loved by all of us and anyone who knew her. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and the heartiest laugh you ever heard. I know your saying this is a long story. But she deserved everything I am saying. I was 6 months pregnant for my daughter Shelly when she died, and I know she would have loved her as she did her 27 other grandchildren. I just wish she had been able to see her. So I will end this long story saying when she died a piece of me died too. I was blessed and wish everyone had a mother like I did. I love and miss you everyday Mom and always will. Until we meet again in heaven where I know you have a special place with the good Lord. God Bless you Mom.
