Thanks for the reply. You are correct, my Prince line reportedly has been traced back to Rotherhithe, allthough the paper on the subject has not yet been released even to the general NEHGS membership. If we had any French-Canadian connection, it would seem to have to come through Maine and NH. DNA reports give us credit for having a large fraction of European ancestors coming through Maine, although the fact is many were in Plymouth colony for 90 years before that. My known ancestors who traveled to French Nova Scotia during the 17th century conflicts died in battle or on the return trio. I also have a potential significant Huguenot fraction, but the evidence seems scarce. The greatest part of my Scottish descent is from Edinburgh area. Tim
I have been picking out some gedmatch numbers listed on wikitree, and see that your gedmatch to me is much closer than wikitree Relationship Finder could account for.
Thanks,
Tim
Hello Norman, it was my pleasure to help you with the Charles Houde dit Desruisseaux. Did you know we are 5th cousins twice removed through your 4th g-grandmother, Charlotte-Amable Robillard.
According to the Relationship Finder, we are 7th Cousins. Pierre Laine is our 6th Great-Grandfather and we have quite a large number of Mutual Ancestors/ Relatives. Our Connection is the most extensive one I've found so far.
Thank You for providing so much information on the Prince Family.
Wish you a Happy New Year. May 2018 bring you all you need to be happy.
Congratulation for adding your contributions in December. Whatever the quantity of your contributions, they all count. As I always say "Quality is better than quantity" to make a great family tree.
Welcome to our community, Norman. It's super that you found so many members of your family on WikiTree and wonderful that you're willing to add missing information about them. :)
