Marie Josephe LeBlanc is a descendant of an Acadian
Marie Josephe LeBlanc was born in exile around March 1767, she is baptized on 6 July 1767 in L'Assomption, listed as around 3 1/2 months old, Acadian, daughter of Joseph LeBlanc and Madeleine Dugas. [1][2] This is a family of Acadians returning north after the deportation, she is the first of their children to get baptized in L'Assomption.
Joseph Pelerin, son of Jean Pelerin and of Marie Josephe Bourg, married Marie Josephe Leblanc, daughter of Joseph Leblanc and of Madeleine Dugas, on 28 January 1788 in St-Jacques-de-l'Achigan. There is notice of consanguinity.[3][4]
Eight known children from the marriage. Joseph died in 1801.[5]
Marie Josette Leblanc, widow of Joseph Pelerin, remarried on 26 September 1803 in St-Jacques-de-l'Achigan withJoseph Cassé, son of the late Antoine Cassé and of Agathe Pichet.[6][7]
She passed away on 31 August 1818 and was buried the next day.[8]
