MEDORA — Lester Lebegue, 84, of Medora, died at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Jersey Community Hospital.

Born in Highland, Ill., June 7, 1930, he was son of Octave and Minnie (Zobrist) Lebegue.

He married Janet Kaye (Scheffel) Lebegue in Jerseyville on March 24, 1961. She survives.

He was a farmer. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Jerseyville.

Surviving in addition to his wife, Janet Lebegue of Jerseyville, are sister, Aneda Rutz of Highland and brother, Herman Lebegue of Cottage Hills, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant sons, Richard and David, one brother and sister-in-law, Harlan and Arzella Lebegue, two sisters and brothers-in-laws, Ordella and Orville Rutz and Dorothy and Vernon Mick, one sister- in-law, Monetta Lebegue, one brother-in-law, Wilfred Rutz.

Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday, May 17, at Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2015, at Bethel Baptist Church, Jerseyville, with a lunch to follow services. Rev. Joel Lohr will officiate.

Committal services are scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday at Gullick Cemetery near Highland.
