Biography

Felix Lajeunesse was born on 9 Jul 1874 in Saint-Jérôme, Terrebonne, Québec, Canada, son of Antoine Lajeunesse (1840 - 1916) and Julie Forget (1836 - 1893).^[1], the son of Antoine Lajeunesse and Julie Forget.

In the 1881 census Felix (age 6) was in Russell, Prescott and Russell, Ontario.^[2]

In the 1891 census Felix (age 17) was the single son of Antoine Lagenesse in Clarence, Russell, Ontario, Canada.^[3]

Felix married Rose-de-Lima Thémens (1876 - 1904) on 9 Aug 1896 in Rockland, Russell, Ontario.^[4] Their children were:

1. Arthur David Lajeunesse (1897 - 1955)
2. Denis Lajeunesse (1899 - )
3. Joseph Alonzo Lajeunesse (1902 - )
4. Joseph Amédée Lajeunesse (1904 - ).

In the 1901 census Felix (age 26) was in Russell, Ontario, Canada with his wife Rose and his sons Arthur and Denis.^[5]

Félix and Rose-de-Lima had four sons, Arthur, Denis, Alonzo and Joseph. After the death of Rose-de-Lima from tuberculosis in 1904, Felix had to place his four young sons in an orphanage as he had no one to help care for them while he worked. His youngest son Joseph died at the age of 4 1/2 months in August 1904.

elix married Rose Anna Forget (1867 - 1906) on 7 Aug 1905 in Montréal, Ile de Montréal, Québec. ^[6] and his children were able to come home from the orphanage.

His wife quickly became pregnant, and in April 1906., she gave birth to twin girls, but sadly, one was stillborn and the other, Rose Anna Lajeunesse, only lived a few hours . Rose Anna the mother died shortly after from complications from the birth. Felix was alone again and his sons returned to the orphanage.

In 1910, 35 year-old Félix married for the third time to Marguérite Léda Lepage ^[7] Together they had 6 children:

2. Marie Jeanne Lajeunesse (~1911 - 1931)
3. Marie Seuphronie Lajeunesse (1911 - )
4. Joseph Laurence Lajeunesse (1913 - 1975)
5. Adrien Lajeunesse (~1914 - 1960)
6. Albert Jean Paul Lajeunesse (1918 - 1919).

When Léda died in 1927^[8] at the age of 45, Felix still had young children at home, but his older children helped to look after them. Six years later, Felix married for the final time to Georgiana Baril, who had previously been married to Charles-Thomas Desjardins.

Felix died on 11 Apr 1946 in Buckingham at the age of 71.
